Week 7 & 8 - Copper Trinket box
We are skipping a week as week 6 was a business week and not a making week.
Again, I totally under estimated this week and how tricky it was going to be, I am glad we had two weeks to do this project and of course the big beast torch.
Copper always requires so much heat and once it is heated it turns this lovley black colour which always makes me worried that it is going to suddenly melt into oblivion!
We were set the task to make a little trinket box that could be used as a keepsake, it would definitely would look stunning in silver (but also expensive to make).
Geometry!!!!
Block and punch
Tiny practice collets
We had the option make the lid domed, or flat, we cut cut some out and texture it. I decided to use a piece of copper that I had texured with my rolling mill. I then decided to use a flower design to add an embelishment on the lid.
